Alex gets the high score on the Starfighter arcade game at his trailer park. He is then picked up by Centauri to take him to Starfighter Command to defend the Star League from invasion. Alex is overwhelmed and goes back to Earth but when he realizes his family is in danger he goes back. While he was gone Starfighter Command is destroyed with all the starfighters. He is now the Last Starfighter. He defends the border destroying the invaders. He goes home and gets his girlfriend Maggie to show more accompany him.

I enjoyed the movie. It's quite crazy as this is one of the movies with early digital productions. Pretty good for it's era.

A USMC man can't handle civilian life and goes back to the military---as a teacher to a bunch of academy military cadets with no talent.
I've had this disc a few years, and watch it every few years. The Wikipedia entry /a> seems to be accurate andfair. Robert Preston's last film role - as a salesman/con man.
