Valentine’s Day!
In honor of everlasting love, I’d like to tell you about a smutty book I just read. He’s an AI, she’s the daughter of the man who created him. No one knows what he is but her.
Let me share with you the portion that made me cackle:
“Jesus Christ, did you give yourself an upgrade? There’s no way that is standard issue.”
This was honestly so much fun which was a surprise since it hit a bunch of darker issues.

The hero became obsessed with the heroine almost immediately but didn't want to scare her off since she's recently been hurt by a crappy ex boyfriend. The courting was cute and the sex was extremely public at the bathhouse she owns. I was surprised at just how public but different tentacles for different folks and all.
The pacing was fairly slow and picked up in the second half.

This was fun! Not as steamy/taboo as I expected, kind of following the high heat, high sweet trend I happen to adore. There isn’t any actual stalking, for example. Just that Gideon knows she’s his mate and she’s not aware.
Sex positive and a pretty cool magic system. The mystery/danger plot wasn’t really fleshed out though and I think if you’re going to toss in some human trafficking maybe you owe it to the story to do a little more with that. (Not trauma, just that it was weird it show more was such a throwaway plot when it’s such a heavy topic)
Looking forward to reading the other in this series. show less

Oh I just adored this insta-love/lust monster romance story! Adrian and Amy were just so perfect for each other. I often switch up my favorite tropes but I have to say fated-mates will be my heart's favorite forever.
