An interesting retelling of the German epic 'The Nibelungenlied.' The author was a native German, who learn English later in life, so the prose is a bit odd and takes some getting used to. A rather plodding book, but well done nonetheless
Unusual and interesting presentation of village life in the 14th century, and the devotion they gave to building a cathedral.
Covers the Reformation in Europe, 1483 to 1644. The book makes a dry aspect of history more interesting and accessible, as these books are accomplished at. Good for students.
I bought this for no reason than its function as a volume in the Boot''s Booklovers Library. There is an issue stamp at the back of the book showing various loans between 1962 and 1964 - and attached to the book, linked to one of those holes one sees drilled into the top of their spines, is a plastic holder carrying Mrs N.Slatter's ticket of membership of Boot's Booklover's Library, branch no. 254, no. B12 512018.
