About the Author
Eric nicol is Canada's most beloved humorist and author of some six thousand newspaper columns, several stage plays, scripts for radio and television and more than thirty books--three of them winners of the Stephen Leacock award for humour. He was also the first recipient of the BC Gas Lifetime show more Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to the literary arts in 1995. His most recent book of memoirs, Anything for a Laugh, was shortlisted for the 1999 Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Book Prize. Nicol was born in 1919 in Kingston, Ontario but has spent most of his life in Vancouver, BC, where he currently resides with his wife Mary Razzell. show less

Eric Nicol was a homourist who was popular for a while, gently poking fun at the very staid country of my youth, a considerable time ago. It was fun enough, though not a sideslapper.
