Tiltredes! show less
Working with Emotions in Psychotherapy (Practicing Professional (Mahoney), The) by Leslie S. Greenberg
This book is an excellent guide to help therapists work more effectively with client's emotions. Great resource if you want to expand your style with clients or if you are into experiential approaches.
This book has three related goals. The first and primary goal is to stimulate research on the process of psychotherapy. The second goal is to expose the reader to innovative developments in the field of psychotherapy process research. The third and last goal is to consolidate methodological information on process research so that current and future investigators have a methodological base from which to proceed. Research on the process of therapy is designed to explore and determine how show more psychotherapy succeeds or fails. This book is intended as a handbook on process research. In the first introductory chapter we attempt to describe the current "state of the art" and identify future directions for process research. The book is then divided into two major sections. The first, the substantive section, is a series of chapters each presenting a different process analysis system. The second section consists of three chapters dealing primarily with methodological issues of problems in process research.
This volume represents the first handbook to appear in the field of process research in over a decade. Updating and expanding upon Kiesler's groundbreaking work (1973), Greenberg and Pinsof present here the most systems for understanding the mechanisms of change in individual, group, and family treatment. Special attention is given to the role of the alliance between therapist and client. Emphasizing the impact that empirical investigations can make on practice, the Handbook presents a wide variety of up-to-date process research systems and consolidates methodological information in the field. show less
