As a movie novelization, this is not bad. The author has not done what most do in this situation, which is convey only dialogue and setting, so that it reads more like a screenplay. This reads more like an actual book, which is nice. The story probably does lend itself much more to visuals, but Ted has done a good job of describing them. I've never seen this film, (and I wasn't aware it was one when I acquired the book) but I might check it out after reading this.
A spaceship crash-lands. The occupant? One cat.

This is a novelization of the movie by the same name. Reading the book was just like seeing the movie, with almost no changes or additions. No changes makes sense, but it would have been fun to get inside Jake's head a bit, or even Frank's.

Don't read the book. Watch the movie. It's very cute, and this novelization doesn't do it justice.

And the good guys win! Hooray! Was there ever any doubt? I never saw this movie as a kid, but I'm sure I would have loved it. There's nothing like a talking cat. Just watch the film if you're interested; the novelization doesn't add much to the story. Read for GarbAugust 2024
A wonderful children's story about a horse with knock-knees in the front and bow-legs in the back who wants to be a great race horse. The book details his struggles to find a meaningful place in the world.
