If more people had read this book Hillary might not have been the Democratic nominee in 2016. Not having buried Hillary when it might have mattered, most of these essays are beside the point now that the Clinton dynasty is well and truly behind us, but some are still relevant. The best are the ones by Mo Tkacik on abortion policy and Belén Fernández on the 2009 coup in Honduras. The weakest are the one about “carceral feminism” (no) and the one whose author didn’t sign her real name. show more Also good: Frances Fox Piven on poverty and Catherine Liu on her immigrant dad’s admiration for Nixon, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Hillary. Best of all, now I have some new writers to follow. show less
