I think this edition (Rupert S. Holland ed. Grossett & Dunlap 1900) is redactions for children of Burton's translations . My impression is that they've been redacted to the point of not making sense. It was a complete revelation when I read Zipes' paraphrases of Burton's unexpurgated tales and understood for the first time what was going on.
six color plates by Manning deV Lee and several vintage black & white photographs, illustrated chapter title pages. Early history of the air plane, including material on balloon travel, the Wright Brothers, pioneer long distance flights, dirigibles & zeppelins, aircraft in WWI, Arctic & North Pole expeditions, Charles Lindbergh and more. - COVER: Red clothbound with beautiful embossed image of Byrd's plane against the ice cap in silver and blue with black title lettering above and black show more decorations. show less
