Fun old school HP. There was a lot happening here. Lots of action rather than a few long scenes. There was some old school slapping and rapeyness. But it was pretty fun to have the heroine be a stunt woman although she was pretty good for a 21 year old. The actress she is doubling for talks like a gangster's moll from a 1930s film. That was pretty amusing. The hero was pretty arrogant. He was very much aware of the respect due him and continually got bent out of shape if the heroine spoke to show more him the wrong way.
Not great but a fun way to spend a couple of hours. show less

I received an electronic copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The cover and the description led me to expect a sexcapade, and indeed, there's a lot of sex and sexuality in this book, but frankly, it's actually a period romance with sex. And a professionally written one at that. The story, characters and plot were all well-told and richly detailed. I don't understand why this story has gotten such a low rating so far, unless people were expecting something other than what they show more got.
It's not a conventional love story. There are multiple partners and female/female liaisons, as you might expect from a story that involves a harem, and the process of falling in love isn't smooth -- not that it should be, but altogether, it's an amazing bit of work.
I gave it four stars instead of five because while great, it isn't epic.
The only thing that I was disappointed by was that the thieving earl didn't receive justice. A minor plot point at best. show less

Pretty fun older HP. The heroine is mistaken for the evil wife of a Brazilian millionaire. Since she has been bonked on the head she doesn't know who she really is at first. Decent writing with a bit of a tendency to purple prose. I had fun reading about places I had been while a foreign exchange student in Portugal. Not necessarily a must read but pretty entertaining.
Pretty decent secret baby story. After all the guy was married and hadn't told the heroine when they had their love affair. I think that's a fairly valid reason for the heroine not to tell the guy.
So the story starts 10 years later when the hero has finally tracked the heroine down and has come for her. Of course he doesn't fess up to that right away. The book was fairly well written and I mostly enjoyed it. There was something about the ending though that didn't work as well for me.
