This is a beautifully illustrated book and it is interesting to read the story from a cat’s point of view. I found the book a bit too sentimental but still shed a tear at the end!

This was a surprisingly engaging and informative book. After reading the earlier, “A Cat’s Life,” I knew I would enjoy and be entertained by “A Cat’s Legacy”. However, I did not expect it to be such a profound piece. The alternating life philosophies of Dulcy (who is such a wise and thoughtful cat), and Dee (Dulcy’s astute human), was delightful. In addition, the passages in the book conveyed amazing insight into how to live a life filled with pleasure and love – whether one show more happens to be feline or human. A beautiful, refreshing and well-written work! show less

Unabashedly anthropomorphic, life from birth to death of a very special cat is told from a feline point of view. As special as our heroine is, the allure of this book is grounded in Dulcy's immediately recognizable personality in other cats who have adopted their own humans, namely ours.

In this story, filled to the brim with love, we are allowed to view a cross-species intimacy of deeply mutual need, comfort, joy, and pain over the span of 17 years. Having an indoor-only cat, I cringed at show more the dangerous freedom Dulcy enjoyed. Yet, there was a strong bond between human and cat which engendered trust and attentive caring. Dulcy lived a satisfying long cat life.

Yes, indeed. This was a heartfelt little book which brought tears to my eyes - a rare occurrence.

This is the story of a cat's life, from beginning to end, told from the point of view of the cat, Dulcy. She was brought home by her human as a kitten and lived her entire life with that one human... with a couple of other cats added to the family along the way, some moves, some separations, and lots of love.

No surprise here, how much I loved this book! There were smiles, laughs and plenty of tears! Anyone who has ever lived with a cat, or even those who love any kind of animal – I can't show more imagine any of those people could dislike this book. Just be careful about not reading it in public and have a big box of Kleenex with you. I have to admit a lot of the ending was difficult for me. It would have been anyway, but Dulcy had the same problem as my previous cat (kidney failure), which hit really close to home. There were also some beautiful illustrations in my ebook edition. show less
