Last year wasn't a great one in reading for me. I read a lot of books (95 or so), but few standouts. I hope to read books I like better this year.

Thank you, Kath, Jim, Liz, and Diana.

This will be a quiet thread in 2016. Just books.

Carrie, Donna, Lori: Hey! Good to see visitors, even if I am sort of staying under the radar. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm getting much more choosy or discriminating or just picky about what I read. Hence the DNF for A Change in Altitude by an author I usually love. I couldn't maintain interest; her writing seemed different from her previous work; it just didn't suit. I gave it a generous 100 pages, but no.

Glad to see you back, Gail!
I have even more trouble keeping up this year than last - already - and already my reading is less and less. But I'm here! And glad you're here! I wish you a great 2016 with a lot of stellar reading.

>18 LizzieD: Peggy, thanks! Good to see you here as well. I'm staying low to the ground this year. Some other things have taken up my attention--hobbies, I mean; there are no disasters here--as of this writing.

I'm changing up my reading habits a bit this year as well. As mentioned in the first post, last year's total was fine, but I wasn't thrilled with many of the individual books.

Hi, Gail! I think reading what you want, when you want, is the way to go. And if it doesn't suit, drop it and pick up something else! Find the books that you can love! :)

Wouldn't it be nice if 2017 was a year of peace and goodwill.
A year where people set aside their religious and racial differences.
A year where intolerance is given short shrift.
A year where hatred is replaced by, at the very least, respect.
A year where those in need are not looked upon as a burden but as a blessing.
A year where the commonality of man and woman rises up against those who would seek to subvert and divide.
A year without bombs, or shootings, or beheadings, or rape, or abuse, or spite.

2017.

Festive Greetings and a few wishes from Malaysia!
