Do you fit in with the group?

This is all for fun, mind you, but it's still fairly interesting and I can't wait to see who "fits in" the most. :D

1. Go to your Tag Mirror (http://www.librarything.com/tagmirror/yourusernamehere)
2. Click on the Green Dragon tag.
3. List how many books you have that have been tagged Green Dragon.

I'm currently at six: Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians, The Hobbit, Storm Front, The Rover, Good Omens, and Ender's Game.

I'm not a huge fantasy person, so I'll probably be the low man on the totem pole... but I was surprised at seeing Mel Odom's book there.

235 out of my 740 odd books. unless I miscounted. No I'm not listing them all! But as I use the green dragon tag about 150 times myself it's not that surprising.

265 of my 1,035 books (about 25%) have been tagged Green Dragon. I don't use the GD tag myself. The only book that puzzled me was Life of Pi by Yann Martel. But then again, it's on my TBR pile, so maybe it will become clear when I read it.

This is odd. According to my tag mirror, NONE of the books in my library have been tagged "Green Dragon". But I know that's not true because I own a number of the books that come up when I just search for the tag "Green Dragon" (Elantris for example). Am I doing something wrong?

#5 - Click on 1,000 tags in your tag mirror page and Green Dragon will show up then. :P Apparently, you have too much variety!

Thanks bookmasterjmv! That worked. Looks like I have 112 out of 1043 books with a Green Dragon tag. It makes sense since much of my reading lately has been inspired or suggested by the folks in this fine pub.

#7 - No idea why it's not working for you. :( All I can suggest is to keep trying..

71 out of my 523 books are tagged Green Dragon, but I haven't used that tag. Perhaps I should at least use it for the group reads.

74 out of 727. I don't use the tag often, though.

Okay, where on earth are you finding the exact number? When I click I get a list of every book I own that others have tagged green dragon, but I had to count them myself for the total. I had 162...

I counted by hand.

I honestly wasn't expecting folks to have that many. But I only have a collection of forty-something books...

Edit: However, I have catalogued four of the 6 books bookmaster mentioned as being GD tagged.

I use it on books that I enjoy, that I feel fit into the fantasy / fun / soft SF arena of GD, that I think others in GD will also enjoy.

Well, I got to 60 and I wasn't even a third down my scrollbar, so I think I have 180 or more out of my more than 1200 books. Most of it was fantasy.

mmmm Green Dragon doesn't show up in mine either even on the 1000 tag. 47 of my 210 books are fantasy though.

#27 - That can't be right, dreamlikecheese. I looked in your library and I see we share a bunch that I know are tagged Green Dragon, like American Gods, for example. I think some of you are having trouble because it takes a while for the books to load the first time you click on the link.

Okay here is the order of steps:

Go to your own Profile page
Click on Clouds
Click on Tag Mirror
Click on 1000
Click on the Green Dragon tag in the cloud and wait for the list to load.

Green Dragon doesn't even appear in my tag mirror. Not even on 1000 tags. Perhaps it just means that Green Dragon is not in the 1000 most popular tags for my books. I go straight from greek mythology to Greenland. I really should check which book has Greenland attached to it. I don't recall ever reading any book with any connection Greenland at all!

Ah, I got yah, now.

If everyone who can't find GD in their 1000, added the green dragon tag to some suitable books then the popularity would increase to the point where it would show. But then I'd have to recount how many books I have, and I'm not sure I want to do that.

The TagMirror doesn't think so. Even set at 1000 tags; no Green Dragon. This seems odd to me as I do have several very Green Dragonish books cataloged.

None show up, though I have a few that seem to be tagged Green Dragon. But, since I'm a contrarian, I'm not leaving.

I have 288 books that have been tagged "Green Dragon."

(Some of them are real head-scratchers: The Grapes of Wrath? Really?)

Edited to add: That's just over 2%.

I have 75 that are tagged "green dragon." Most of these are due to individual books of complete series (Harry Potter, Wheel of Time, etc)

I have power tagged my books with Green Dragon (49 out of 210) and still no GD on my tag cloud :0(

As if I didn't know about how I fit in, Tag Cloud confirmed my oddness, so I can now justifiably walk around all day with a Cloud of my own around my Head. Zero GDs (but 5 "Greens").

By the way, if you click the thingee that says "Show" for "Weight," you get a number next to each tag, which "might be" a count (of sorts).

361 out of 1814, about 20%. Assuming, of course, that none of the books has 'prevalence index' in the title or author. I'm far too lazy to count them manually.
