Okay, this is kinda complicated:

On the Rumors thread, talking about superheroes, Lefty said, Cat, I'll save any embroidery and embellishments and ship them to you soon. But I cannot reveal to you the identity of the person who will be wearing the finished product.

Then JP and Ron joked about the guys in their glittery, flowery costumes.

Then Cat said, Yay! *goes to mailbox to wait* . . . only, I thought Ron was the one who made that comment! I had a mental image of him pulling a glittery, flowery superhero costume out of his mailbox. It was quite funny!

First I was suprised, then shocked. The next thought that ran through my head was maybe it was a movie marithon in chat. Then I reread the post.

The movie marathon in chat is not a bad idea. I wonder when Colin Firth's birthday is?

*goes to check*

Apparently it's September 10th. Hmmmm. . . .

Books need underwear? Hmm, I should go make some for my poor books straight away. Right now they are all completely bare!

In Third Verse pollysmith quoted Oklahoma and then added:

(You did say misquotes were okay, right?)

I read it as "You did say mosquitos were okay, right?"

Which is okay in Minnesota, their state bird, but I don't know about Oklahoma.

244Espeon200
Jan 22, 2010, 2:29 am

No, Oklahoma's state bird is The Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher, a species that, contrary to its name, eats mosquitos.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!

foggi, I had a misread on your post about the slipcover you made. The first time I read it, I thought you were using the cotton material you had because you had given up your ghost. I thought it strange that you would have a ghost costume that would be big enough to turn into a slipcover. 8-/

This week I've been reading my professor's doctoral dissertation (which is deadly boring, by the way) and it's about labor migration to Sweden in the 1940s, 50s and 60s, so he writes a lot about immigrants from different parts of the world. And I swear that every time the word "utomnordiska" (which means people not from Scandinavia) shows up, I read it as "utomjordiska" (which means people not from Earth). Every. Time.

I gave that girl a stern lecture on why worms are great. They're so humble and very helpful, and eat the scraps of humanity's food and turn it into compost, which is a useful fertilizer. Seriously, what's not to love about worms?

312justjukka

Neither can I! Poor wormies. If you ever see a teenaged girl and an older woman crawling around on their hands and knees, picking worms off the sidewalk and driveway after a good rain, that would be me and my mom. We're crazy worm lovers. :)
