The anti-Bryson writes a grim travel book. A grimier verson of Martin Fletcher's through the Backwoods of America that deal with the backstreets, cellars and roadsides of those outside of English society. Like a trip through teh tube, it's compelling at first but when you finish you feel you want a shower.
. This is an armchair travel book of England like no other. Exploring the underside of English society, Cohn takes the reader on an adventure, that to put it mildly, has nothing so mundane as cricket, tea, or Big Ben in it.
