It sometimes suffers for being relatively old--it predates the famous Rider Tarot deck, and it also lacks any mention of the also now-famous Celtic Cross spread. However, MacGregor's interpretations are interesting, and often insightful as well, and he is much easier to read than Waite. On the whole, it is a short book, and in a small space he offers a decent introduction to the Tarot, including its symbolism and its related card-games, as well as its main, divinatory, use.
