While episodes 3 & 4 were somewhat better than 1 & 2, I still have a few problems with it.
1. Sometimes the descriptions get a bit long winded.
2. Really over the repetitiveness of her fathers show more books.
3. A couple of errors.
4. The Heroine.
"Ainsley was feeling out of control. It was an unfamiliar feeling and not one that she liked."
I don't know how this could be an 'unfamiliar' feeling. Ainsley seems to always be out of control, confused and flat out weird.
She is so out of touch with herself it is beyond annoying. She refuses to even try to get to know anything about herself.
Talk about being in denial, this girl takes the cake, ate it, threw it up and flushed it!
She rants and raves.
Lies about the most ridiculous things.
Then sticks her head in the sand and hopes no one kicks her in the ass.
I have read the 1st 3 books of [a:Tasha Black|8471672|Tasha Black|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1409952039p2/8471672.jpg]'s 300 Moons series ( published in 2016) and 'Reconstructed', the 1st book in her Building a Hero series ( published in 2015).
I loved them and will continue to read them.
Curse of the Alpha was published in 2014. There are a lot of pluses for this story, but you can really see the growth of the writer in her other books.
In fact, you can even see her ability to grow in these episodes. Each one is slightly better than the last.
I do like this series. It just hasn't wowed me and I am glad it is not the first books I read of this author. show less

A Sci-fi Paranormal Suspense Romance. I am putting it in the New Adult category.
My reason for the New Adult category is the intimacy factor. It isn't explicit enough to call Adult or Erotic, but it is there. Mostly show more these type scenes are not graphicly written out. They are used properly to enhance the story and the personalities of the main characters.
It was completely different than what I expected. Filled with action and suspense, it has an "Iron Man" feel to it. Added to the complexity and world build is the implied paranormal factor due to government DNA experimentation.
The writing style is very well done. There are a few minor editing errors. They didn't get in the way of my enjoyment of the story, but I did scratch my head a couple of times. All the different elements and layers kept me enthralled. There are surprises, twist and turns throughout. In fact, I have added Tasha Black to my Goodreads shelves because of this book and I am looking forward to reading more of her work. show less

I enjoyed episodes 5 & 6 much more than the previous episodes.
There was a lot more action and things happened much quicker.
Without all the ridiculous mental & emotional angst Ainsley seemed show more determined to create for herself by putting her head in the sand, she finally started learning things and became a more interesting character.
I don't remember finding any errors/typos.
However, I can't say I loved it, nor do I feel the urge to continue with the other series dealing with Ainsley, " Fate of the Alpha " and " Heir to the Alpha".
That may change in the future since their publishing dates are 2015 & 2017.
I know [a:Tasha Black|8471672|Tasha Black|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1409952039p2/8471672.jpg]'s writing improved by leaps and bounds very quickly as proved by her 300 Moons & Building a Hero series.
Both of which I love and will follow diligently. show less

I found one error. There maybe others I missed.
The story is interesting but the flow/pace is off. It will go fast, then slow down, then pick back up again.
Honestly, Tasha show more Black normally writes better than this.
It is a cute and fun read. On occasion it becomes a bit repetitive, but not much. It needed more suspense and character build. All the characters came off a bit unfledged. If that trait had been used to bring more humor to the book it would have worked out better. Alas, this did not happen.
The romance part was kind of sweet. This is definitely NOT erotica. I would label it more 'New Adult', especially taking in consideration the age of the young ladies involved, their behavior and thoughts.
Last but not least, I liked it enough that I will be reading at least a couple more books in this series to see how it goes. If things don't pick up a bit more I will let the series slide down the slippery slope of my memories. show less
