This is a collection of articles that covers his personal opinions about death penalty, bible in school, medical topics, etc. Agree or disagree, it is hard to believe these were written in the late 1700's, and still relevant today.
Dr. Benjamin Rush is one of the U.S. Founding Fathers.
Very useful book UP TO 1959, but lacks something - perhaps colorful pictures (all are B&W) and some critical analysis and some insight.

Pictorial History of Philosophy by Dagobert D. Runes (1959)
For a quick summary of philosophy, philosophers, and philosophies, D. Runes' (ed.), Dictionary of Philosophy (1984) will help. This dictionary includes information about both Western and Eastern philosophy. This edition stops in the early 1980s, so this compact book failed to incorporate many contemporary ideas of the last quarter century. Keeping this limitation in mind, students of philosophy can still utilize this revised and enlarged edition for a review in philosophy.
Philosophers in alphabetical order, with brief biographies and excerpts of their notable works.
