Thorough account of the various foreign born commandos who served within the British Army and alongside, during WW2. The accounts of what they endured just to get to England and join were my favorite part. The writing is not gripping, but the lives described were. Probably more geared to the history minded reader than the general public.
A compilation of quick references dealing with WWII. The texts are well written but the maps are not very useful overall. If one has a good Atlas of the War , be prepared to consult that as well. Not perfect as a one-volume reference, but pretty good, as it was a very large war.
Superb. Comprehensive and has never let me down yet. Particularly strong on the undercover war - unsurprisingly, considering its editors.
It is essentially a thick book filled with facts and figures but not comprehensive per item wise, about the WW 2. It comes in useful when one wants to do a quick reference on the war period or a leisurely reading cum information digestion.
