Bill Brandt: Nudes 1945–1980 is a seminal photobook published in 1980 that serves as the definitive retrospective of Bill Brandt’s radical, 35-year exploration of the female form. Moving far beyond traditional, academic studio portraiture, the collection establishes the human body as an abstract, surrealist landscape. Brandt personally supervised the reproduction of the 100 black-and-white prints featured in the book, over a third of which had never been published before.
A wonderful collection of black and white photographs of London life in the 1930s. The photos show the life and habits of the poor as well as the rich.
The photography is good. The link of a photograph to the referenced author is not always strong.
