I didn't find this collection to be as astounding as others seem to have; in fact, I found it to be quite lacklustre. Besides the fact that the main images are all multi frame murals of influential groups from the 1960s - a period of American history that I'm getting a bit tired of hearing about, to be honest - there isn't much to really make this collection memorable. Unlike In the American West and The 60s, the collection is loossely grouped based on format, where I would much rather see show more an emphasis of theme. Avedon's typical intensity also seems to be missing from the murals, as the focus is difficult or impossible to determine. Is the cut-in-half Ginsberg the focal point of his family portrait? It doesn't seem so, even though he is the likely candidate. show less
