A good marital therapy book about conflict management inside the marriage, it has been sourced by a good many counselors since. It is a bit long-winded but quite readable. I recommend this book for anyone contemplating a long relationship, and I think both parties to the same should consult it.

This approach does not work per The Science of Trust: Emotional Attunement for Couples page 14 of 480. It then refers to a “terrific book” that corrects this error: Anger: The Misunderstood Emotion.
