Really enjoyable read. You've got your done-to-death shifter w/ a destined mate trope going, but with some small yet awesome twists. Among other things this is only the second "destined mate" book I've read that didn't have rapey overtones of the mate in question being given no choice.
The book ends more on a happily-for-now than happily-ever-after, but the for-now is a solid foundation for a happy, healthy relationship.

Add to that solid plot, interesting characters, conflict that isn't built show more on i-love-you-you-hate-me, and an interesting new approach to wolf shifter society, and I'm a happy reader.

I wish it was longer, but that doesn't detract from a really good read.

Well-written, interesting characters (what we could see of them), very interesting setting (even less detail about that)...but the story consisted far too much of a haze of fulfilled lust and the details of how it was fulfilled. Pages of writing about the sounds the characters make while aroused...dull. Fated Mates is usually boring, as it was here - there are brief glimpses of actual story, where they get to know each other or encounter interesting aspects of the town (are they _all_ show more shifters there? Or only mostly - and do the humans there know about the shifters? How does this work with the larger society - does the FBI know their detective is a lion shifter? More (many more) questions than answers). I enjoyed those brief glimpses - "you're being bossy", the nip scene, Griff's thoughts about the lion queens of his pride - but they mostly didn't get followed up, turning instead into another sex scene. Pity. I might look at another book by her, but given the descriptions of the other series she writes in the back of this book, this _is_ her being non-erotic. So - not bad, but not for me. show less
I was given a copy of this ARC for an honest review.

So far I have read Tangled Web, by Crista McHugh. I will post new reviews as I read more.

There may be some spoilers, but I'll try not to. Really.

I wasn't sure how much I would like this one, but it was more fantasy oriented than sci-fi (which I don't mind, but sometimes have a harder time getting into). I liked the story, although I do tend to get frustrated with heroines who don't just tell the truth, which leads to further show more problems--although I know that spoils all the fun in the end and would make life far too easy. Does that count as a spoiler? I liked Titus and Azhura, as well as the other friends Titus has at the palace; Marcus, Galerius, and Vallo. I loved the airships! I liked that Titus' mother liked Azhura right from the start, so there was no catty in-law stuff.

One thing I really did like was despite the fact that the truth wasn't revealed, the men really did actually think about the circumstances regarding her presence, the reputation of the Rabbit, and the fact that no harm had come to Titus in two weeks (the opposite, in fact), and they used their brains instead of jumping to conclusions--you can't blame them for doing that right away, but it didn't drag out forever, and I think that was really well done.

There's definitely a lot of romance--fans won't be disappointed, and I liked their mutual seductions, and Titus' restraint. All in all an enjoyable and exciting read!

I had trouble with the rating on this one. The story and the writing is very well done. I don't remember finding any editing errors or typo's of any kind. It flowed quickly and definitely deserves at least show more 4 stars.

This was not your typical misunderstood, good guy vampire story. Masterson is a vampire from our nightmares. He has no regard whatsoever for humans. He is looking for his idea of a perfect donor. If he drains a few dozen or more humans in the process, he flat out does not care! When he runs into his 'Plum' it is the smell of death that surrounds her that attracts and beguiles him.

'Plum' is a bit of a mystery. You don't know if she is human or something 'other'. You are kept speculating until the 9th chapter. Then you get you 'Ah ha' moment.

A great Halloween story. Macabre and erotic. Very different and most definitely intriguing.
