DescriptionsEdit Descriptions
- This series is intended to help classify the many editions of the Middle English romance "Sir Orfeo." "Sir Orfeo" is found in three manuscripts (Auchinleck/National Library of Scotland MS. Advocates 19.2.1; Bodleian, MS Ashmole 61; British Library, MS, Harley 3810) which have significantly different texts: Auchinleck the best, but perhaps missing the first stanzas; Ashmole similar but more corrupt; Harley very different and much shorter. The series tries to list anthologies which contain "Sir Orfeo," and classify the text, as well as listing commentary editions and translations. (English, Member-written)
