LibraryThing has helped me a lot, because the last few years, I never read up to 100 books.

Some of the touchstones are goofy, but it won't let me correct them, I don't think it likes loading that many at a time.

Zeesosa - :) Reading is relative to time available, speed and material. Never compare. Your list includes some great books! There have been many years in my life where 39 books read would have seemed like a mountain. This year was a reading fluke for me.

I won't post my entire list here, since I've read nearly 150 books this year, but let's see if I can break it down into groups...

Assuming I counted right:

F/SF rereads: 68
F/SF new reads: 64
Fiction rereads: 2
Fiction new reads: 5
Nonfiction new reads: 2

I reached my goal this year of approximately 50% new reads. My goal for next year will be perhaps 75% new reads, including, say, 10% nonfiction. I don't particularly care about the fiction-f/sf divide at this point.

My list can be found here.

My goal was to read 200 books. I'm at 190 or 191, so should make it.

The list is too long to post here!

I'm glad a few other people have posted shorter lists here! MrsLee's list was sort of intimidating (congratulations, though, and I hope your touchstones eventually come back!) Reading the 50 Book Challenge group, too, I felt like everyone in the world always reached 50 and usually read far more.

So, here's my list, such as it is:

Specials
Sorcery and Cecelia
Episodes from the Early History of Mathematics
The Giver (reread)
American Born Chinese
Gathering Blue
The Phantom Tollbooth
Born on a Blue Day
Looking for Alaska
Voices from Chernobyl
The Droughtlanders
Bloody Jack
Curse of the Blue Tattoo
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Nickel and Dimed
Feed
Courtesan
The Hollow Kingdom
The Prestige
Stardust
Twilight
Close Kin
Schooled
Ella Enchanted
Mere Christianity
The Wealthy Barber
The Great Divorce
Luminous Cities
The Myth of Ability

bluesalamanders & Morphidae - Woot! :) Love to see how our goals are all sifting out and so individual. I still want to see your lists though. I like to see what others are reading, not only for possibilities for me, but to see the journey our minds have been on this year. How about breaking it into two or three posts? Just a suggestion, but it was a large task for me to get them all typed in and this is the wrong time of year to ask anyone to do large tasks!

I've read over 250 books this year, so I won't post my list, but you can find it here.

As of 12/14/2007, this is how it breaks down:
Fiction: 152
Nonfiction: 101

I had no idea I read that much nonfiction this year! I thought it was almost entirely fiction. Of course, most of the nonfiction is memoirs. Without the memoirs, the number of nonfiction books is reduced to 53 - still a lot more than I would have expected.

#16 - Great idea to tag your books with the year then direct us to that tag. I don't know how to do that linky thing you did, but that works great for a large list of books. Impressive.
