I love this guy! He makes you think for yourself, his stories have lessons to teach you. This story is about just how much is happening behind your back, even when your looking. Edward Gorey never seems to feel the need to "tie-up" any loose ends in his books, so I am left to wonder, if the message of the book is, terrible things happen around us all the time and we don't take any notice just going about our business as if everything is fine. Or, maybe, just maybe. BEWARE of the last kid standing, Damien from the Omen, comes to mind, in a funny sorta' way.
Delightful macabre fun! Clever mobile bits.

Into creatures of every conceivable kind;
