About me I love books! Always have, always will. We have home movies from my first birthday and everytime I opened a book, it had to be read to me at least twice before I would open another present. Then I worked on and off for a large bookstore chain (no not that one, the other one), which I loved. Now I'm getting ready to apply for a Master's in Library Science where, even if I don't have time to read them all, I still will get to be surrounded by books.

About my library I have a lot of different books. Mostly fiction, I especially love "chick lit" and historical fiction, depending on my mood and often the season ("chick lit" just seems more readable in the summer). I also have a lot of religion books, my BA is in religion, so there are text books and books I just find interesting. I think you'll find there's a little bit of something for everybody on my list.

Hey bub. Just saw your response on the reading thread. I take it you don't bookmooch? Just post me your mailing address in a private message and i'll chuff The Book Thief off to ya pronto.

i promise i won't use the address for nefarious purposes...

trust me...

mwahahahaha.
Bib, we missed you tonight. I hope you feel better. We will have to do Princess Bride again in a couple months. It is so good and has so many great lines.
Ok.. yeah.. I didnt know the trip involved the staying over lol... I get antsy when it comes to that. But umm.. the 17th or the 24 either is good for me, I would rather go to KoP just because the city actually freaks me out a bit. I am a lil sheltered and do not spend much time away from my boyfriend lol.. sad, i know. But i am sure i can figure something out... maybe he can bring a friend and they can go off together for a while then come and get me.. idk we will figure something out.. haha
think no more about it! Sometimes we all react in a way we wish we hadn't. My comments can at times be pretty ascorbic
Hey. Why do you have a Malaysian Tapir on your profile?
Hi sister. so I am sitting at work and I am on here as per your request. I figured out that this was you even though I didn't know your name on here. I am soooooooo smart.
Surf Ninjas was sort of an accident. It aired not long ago on a French channel here (I'm in Quebec) and I watched bits of it during pauses of another movie >_>;;
Glad you liked the book! I finished it in three train rides so it was a quick read, but I thought it was a well written YA novel! It's not going to be released until this summer so feel free to pass it on to anyone else that you think will enjoy it!
Cheers! l :)
I'm sorry I missed it, too, bib. PoA is my favourite movie, oh well. I think I will miss next week too! I do enjoy it, but Saturday night is a bit difficult.

Had fun with the "Harry Chapters" this week. I'll see you in the reviwe thread!
Why, thank you Bib!

I bought the first book, "A Game of Thrones" last night! Yeepee! I have to finish "The Amulet of Samarkand", and I have a few more books I want to read, but I am intrigued by what you and El said yesterday, so I'm thinking I might jump it to the top of my very extensive and ever expanding TBR.

You would have died laughing yesterday, if you could have seen me at Borders. I printed out a sheet with the names of the books in the series, so that at lunch, I could pop next door and buy the books (yep, to my everlasting chagrin, I work next to a Borders. So, of course, I'm in there, like, EVERYDAY). Only, I forgot the sheet, When I got there, I couldn't remember any of the titles, nor the author's name. I had to resort to using their search engine. I was searching for things like "a Feast of crows" "a King of Thunder" "A Crown of Thunder"... lol. What an idiot. Ah, but I crack myself up.
thanks, bib! ha ha ha
Hey, Biblio, I just set up my web address with Mary Kay. It is makeuplady08@marykay.com. My name (Nicole Martin) won't show up on the screen yet, but you can do all your shopping and send a list of the items to that address, and I'll take care of the rest. Any questions just send them to my profile here, or my Mary Kay address.

I'll sure take care of you, and appreciate any business.
P.S. The new compacts are great. I love the mix and match capability.
sorry didn't see that invite.
Let me know if you need anything. I'm getting geared up to start consulting. I'll keep you posted. Also I have some more books I need to log in. Keep watching.
Yey, friends! :)
I just read your thread about having a bad day. You know, you could always treat yourself to some Mary Kay stuff. I wasn't going to do this, but now you've forced me. Makeup and chocolate/ice cream run neck and neck with me in the cheering up category.
Nice library.
Hi bib - Insider info... heh heh, I wish! I got the Dance With Dragons date off of Amazon which probably means it's 200% wrong. ;) I guess it's just my own wishful thinking, ever the optimist! They do have a pretty cool looking cover of it posted there though.
cheers - el :)
BTW - I'm impressed at the series books that we share: Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, Shopaholic, Left Behind, etc. Eclectic mix and I rarely find others with similar tastes!
It is not a gold card but i'll probably be looking into getting tickets for us anyway...also Flight of the Conchords is coming to NY beginning of may and i think they will be in philly before that or at least in PA...just letting you know.
I was not on you friends list because i'm covert. Like a ninja.

wooosh...
I noticed that number 22 at another time. I am not sure what they are counting, but maybe that is how many different people have posted. That does seem to high, though. Maybe that many people have read posts. Very interesting!
We would need Saturday to Sunday though of course you can come on Friday if you'd like. The wedding is in the evening on the 20th so we wouldn't expect you to stay until we got home, as the reception last until 11pm. As of now i'm planning to get to Brooklyn around 3 or so on saturday, which means leaving around 1:30 or so. Then just stay as late as you can on sunday so she has the least amount of time possible by herself, and give us a call when you'd be leaving so we know how much time she'll be alone and can judge when we should leave. Let me know as soon as possible if you can or can not do this. Thanks!
Yea should be fine...are you busy next weekend April 19&20? Don's dad was going to watch Pep but turns out he can't but Don and I are going to my friends wedding and as i'm in it we have to be there for rehersal and wedding which means staying in brooklyn for the night. anyway, if your avaialable i was wondering if you could come up and watch her?
awwww, poor bib :-(

I actually ducked into the chatroom at about 8-9am LT time today, because i was online laaaate and thought that i'd check if anyone goes there in the USA-morning. But not a sausage. I guess that you guys can't from work. Anyway, next time you're there of an early evening and no-one else has shown up, post me a LT message or send me an email and i'll join you if i can.

Hope you get some sleep!

I'm also at home with a parent, though not trying to move out. My mom is so afraid I will get to NY for my trip and not come home, but I have no plans but to help care for my kid sister to her relief. Not good at making plans for myself. ;)

Oh, it is no fun to have your things in boxes and in storage! I've been there and am sorry about that. Hopefully you will not have to keep your much loved books boxed up too much longer. It's nice that you can at least keep your few movies on hand and nearby you. Good luck saving and hope you find something not just in you price range for a car and place to live, but which you will love as well!

Ah, drat! No wonder my sister laughed at me - the ipod shuffle sounds awful! I don't think I'll be getting one of those. Thanks for telling me! Yes, an audio book would be very weird on an ipod shuffle! Perhaps I'll look at mp3 players, or do those not work for audio books, either?
Hi bib,

I figure we should be friends if we're going to play haiku poker together. :o)

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
Good idea Biblio! Let me know anything else you think of.

I thought that other person who posted might have been your sister, Lizzie something. Did someone actually find it on their own? Yippee! "I'm having the time of my life!"
Thanks for joining, Biblio! I hope it works out. Maybe I can get my brother to join. He doesn't have Internet or a LT account, but this may be the incentive he needs.

Some people list their DVDs on LT and maybe I will send invites to the ones who have Arrested Development. I think it will have to wait for Monday, though. It is looking like a busy weekend and I feel I am already neglecting HE.

Have a great weekend!
Oh, you've added me to your interesting libraries! Thanks! I'll have a look through yours later too, but right now I'm suopoed to be working...oops!
x
Bib, Thanks for the Flight of the Concords suggestion. I actually have seen the first DVD and it was okay. I never got around to the other disk. Maybe I should give it another try. Almost everyone I have met who likes AD recommends FotC. The guys were funny, especially the manager.

I should clarify that I have given up prime time network TV. I have a mail-in Blockbuster account where I get movies and shows. I also have extended basic cable. I just hate being tied down to a certain time for a show. I should get tivo, but I know I would never have the time to watch everything :)

Back to Arrested Development, my spring break just started (I am a teacher) and I keep going around yelling "Spring Break!" No one gets it :P Maybe I will go find a "Girls With Low Self Esteem" film crew, but I don't think there are many in Michigan! I have always thought about starting an Arrested Development group on LT. Do you think anyone would join? Maybe we could use it to break you sister in. HE can be intimidating!

Anyway...SPRING BREAK!
Hey bib, glad you like my library. It's just a sample of the books I've read, obviously. If you want me to review anything, just pop me a line.
yes i did
so you'll be happy to know when i was leaving the chat room tonight i was called panda twice.

Love you!
Bib! I am so excited you know Arrested Development! When you wrote Mr.F my hopes jumped, but I thought it might be to good to be true! I put out feelers to the other HEers back in the fall, but no one seemed to know the show. I still rewatch a season about every other month. I never really get tired of them. It is great having you on the Hogwarts Express! Save Our Bluths! Bring on the movie!
you may have noticed i'm enjoying the spongebob fun
Hey biblio! Thanks for adding me to your interesting libraries. It's always good to see new people at Hogwarts Express. Have fun with your new addiction! :) See you later.
Coolio! It's so nice to meet someone who has a love for Amelia Peabody! My daughter's username was taken from their first cat, The Cat Bastet. :o)

I see we also share C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy. I thought that was so much better than Narnia, and I like Narnia. I've been planning to reread it, as soon as I can make some time...Hehe. I'm so funny!

Peace and Laughter,
Cristina
I love Evanescence, too, but you've probably guessed as much. ;)

To be truthful I was very cautious to add movies and cds. The majority of mine are not cataloged. It's strongly controversal around LT if they should be cataloged or not. When I saw some of the people I regularly talk to adding them, I felt safer to do so as well.

Ah, another person with an iPod? I still only have my pathetic MP3 player. If I find a really good deal, I may get one before I take a trip in two months. I've been thinking it would be nice to have one on the plane.

Your movies are not all in boxes? Are the sitting around loose then? ;) Several are around here. My kid sister is always leaving them out of cases on tabletops.

See you around HE! I am glad you are enjoying LT. Bwahahaha, the addiction is in effect. ;)
I wouldn't worry too much about the math scores. I don't remember my numerical score, but I was in something like the 33rd percentile for math, among those who took it at the same time I did. I'm quite hopeless at math. And hey, they still let me in!

Have you started looking at schools yet?
Oh, I know what you mean! I always get so excited to see that bright yellow "You have a new comment" box at the top of my profile. ;-)

When I took the GRE, I found that the most helpful thing was to take the practice test (at that point, they sent you a CD-ROM; don't know if this has changed since I took it).

I did take one Archives elective, and enjoyed it. It was a nice change of pace from all of the Children's Lit courses that I was taking.

And I agree -- The Celery Stalks at Midnight is a hilarious title. I loved those books as a child.
Hi! Just dropped by to say I've been enjoying your comments on the Hogwarts Express book discussion threads.
thanks :)
HI! It's your sister!!!
