I was given a copy of this ARC for an honest review.

So far I have read Tangled Web, by Crista McHugh. I will post new reviews as I read more.

There may be some spoilers, but I'll try not to. Really.

I wasn't sure how much I would like this one, but it was more fantasy oriented than sci-fi (which I don't mind, but sometimes have a harder time getting into). I liked the story, although I do tend to get frustrated with heroines who don't just tell the truth, which leads to further show more problems--although I know that spoils all the fun in the end and would make life far too easy. Does that count as a spoiler? I liked Titus and Azhura, as well as the other friends Titus has at the palace; Marcus, Galerius, and Vallo. I loved the airships! I liked that Titus' mother liked Azhura right from the start, so there was no catty in-law stuff.

One thing I really did like was despite the fact that the truth wasn't revealed, the men really did actually think about the circumstances regarding her presence, the reputation of the Rabbit, and the fact that no harm had come to Titus in two weeks (the opposite, in fact), and they used their brains instead of jumping to conclusions--you can't blame them for doing that right away, but it didn't drag out forever, and I think that was really well done.

There's definitely a lot of romance--fans won't be disappointed, and I liked their mutual seductions, and Titus' restraint. All in all an enjoyable and exciting read!

Well, that was certainly a refreshing little bundle of "joy".

Small, short, and sweet, this story was not what you would call unique. Oh, no, on the contrary! What Jay the werewolf and Libbie the witch slash something much stronger have is what we all have seen countless times in shifter romance books. Soulmates, two people who are meant to be together, and that translates into extreme sexual attraction - not to mention the kind that ignites at first glance.

So what, then, made this story so show more nice to read?

It was the pace. Somehow, Elianne Adams managed to move fast, but without leaving out the most important parts that a reader of a sexy romantic short story would be expecting. I'm talking about sexy hot scenes. Funny and quick wit in the dialogues. A dash of paranormal and mystery, and a good dose of heavy-packed action. And she did all that, in less than 100 pages.

So yes, I did enjoy the book quite thoroughly. In fact, I can't wait to see what else the author has in store for the other characters I saw in there. Something tells me she won't disappoint~

Inventive, intense, enjoyable paranormal romance – this first in a series of books was unlike any other I have read in this genre.

Stella is a woman in serious need. She must mate with her intended or face dire consequences. When they finally come face to face the intensity and heat between Stella and Brycen is amazing. Something unexpected happens to interfere with their final mating and then things become tricky enough that their happily ever after might not happen.

I loved the ideas show more presented in this story that I have not seen before. I like the idea of a clan of dragons working together after much has gone wrong for all of them. I look forward to hearing more about the history of the Dragon Blood Clan and also want to hear about each of the members and how they will find their special someone.

Thank you to NetGalley and City Owl Press for the copy of this book to read and review.

Rhia lives day to day, moving a lot and hiding from the creatures that killed her mother. When another creature shows up she knows it's time to move on, but then Drake shows up and tells her this crazy story about how's she's the Queen of some place called Avalore and he has to bring her back so she can save their world. She of course thinks he's nuts but then other things start happening and she can't deny the facts. She's the Queen and she wants nothing more than for Drake to be hers. show more Drake has been searching for Rhia for a really long time and he's finally found her. The only problem? His Dragon wants her for his own and he knows he can never have her.

I liked Rhia. She can take care of herself and she doesn't take things at face value. Can she be a little stubborn? Of course, but she knows what she wants and will work to get it. Drake is your typical alpha male. Protective, a bit bossy, and set in his ways. The attraction between the two is pretty instant. I am surprised that Drake was able to hold out so long and I wish he would have fought for Rhia as hard as she fought for him, but I also understand where he was coming from.

I felt the fight with the villein wasn't as powerful as I wanted it to be. It felt rushed and it didn't really live up to my hopes of what it would be. We got to know the couple well, but there is still a lot about the world that I would like to know. I have a lot of questions that I hope will be answered in book 2. CALL OF THE DRAGON was fast paced and had an interesting storyline. The characters were likable and the world was interesting. Again I have a lot of questions about it still, but I wasn't overly upset that I didn't get the answers by the end. I am interested in seeing what book 2, RISE OF THE PHOENIX, brings to the table and I am hopeful that Brienne and Evan are just as interesting as Rhia and Drake.
