What might be most shocking about this books was that it was published 18 years ago, and that it is still incredibly relevant. Feminists are still struggling with the same issues (within society and within themselves).

A refreshing read, quick, and thought provoking. If you have been paying attention, nothing should shock you, but the conclusions of some of the authors are worthy of reading. If you haven't been paying attention, this book might be a great way to realize how fucked up the show more world is. show less
One of the first women's studies books I ever read in college. It attracted me because it was written by women around my own age, and inspired me to go on and minor in the subject in college. I still have it, nearly 15 years later, and plan to pick up the new edition soon.
I really enjoyed this very diverse collection of personal stories from young feminists.
