Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a leading figure of the Scottish Arts and Crafts movement. Though primarily known as an architect and furniture designer, he was also a painter and graphic artist. LIke Frank Lloyd Wright, he was concerned that his buildings and their furniture and fittings formed an organic whole. This particular volume accompanied a major retrospective of his work, organized by the Glasgow Museum, which I was fortunate enough to see when it was at the Art Institute of Chicago.
