As can always be the case when reading something by someone with such depth of knowledge it can be a little confusing, but nonetheless this is an excellent, far-reaching and thought-provoking insight into Napoleonic convoys, a definite for anyone with any kind of an interest.
Very interesting history of the British convoys during the Napoleonic and American War of 1812. The book is arraigned by areas of operations. There are some narratives about actions with the enemy and also against the weather, but the majority of the book is about the putting together and operating the escorts for the convoys. It is very informative and a must read if you are interested in British naval history.
excellent overview of the great naval hero's life (and controversies). well written and good to read for a biography.
A refreshing look at the national effort to defeat Napoleon. The usual efforts are not far ranging enough when describing the cabinets and their effects on the bureaucracy necessary to organize the country, and its international diplomacy.
