this was my second or third (or fourth?) reading. Still just as interesting as the first time.

I'd actually read Shogun before as a teenager, following the first TV series adaptation. Which was an EVENT. Those were the days when there were only 4 TV stations in the UK and Everyone watched the adaptation - which was brilliant. So with all the buzz around the remake, I wanted to reread via audio before watching the remake. It's a very long book - 54 hours. It remains a brilliant book and mostly didn't outstay its welcome. I did get slightly fed up towards the end just before the final plot conclusions. But it's worth the investment of your time and energy to meet these characters and their environment and their politics and culture.
I don't know if I have the energy or interest to read any more Clavell but everyone should read Shogun.
All I need now is time to watch the remake......

Perspectives about the agendas, both hidden and public, in regard to the elites willing to take control of essential world elements and thus implant their evil plans. A perspective from a former stock market insider and financier as well an economic analyst.

A fantastic, fact-based fictional drama of a foreigner integrating into historic Japan. In the end, it is mostly a love story. Nevertheless, the book is filled with deep cultural insights.
Quite a long read, so mostly recommended for people interested in other cultures.
