Character description

(Fictitious character) Ariadne Oliver is a middle-aged detective story writer, enthusiastic and scatter-brained. She is extremely fond of apples. She is the author of forty-six novels, all best sellers in Britain and America, and freely translated into many other languages. Her approach to solving mysteries is intuitive.

Her first appearance is when Parker Pyne commissions her to write a scenario for one of his clients in "The Case of the Discontented Soldier" in Parker Pyne Investigates [Wikipedia]. She is more often associated with Poirot. [Wikipedia on Ariadne Oliver]
