Description | John Clarke (apothecary, 17th century) Possibly a fictitious character. In Mary Hooper's book, Newes from the Dead, he is present at Anne Greene's aborted dissection, and supplies medical materials as they would-be dissectioners instead attempt to revive her. She stays in his house while recovering, originally with his maid, who is supposed to sleep with her and keep her warm. She is shortly moved to his bedroom, the grandest room Anne ever lived in. |
