Hi it has been a while. My name is Bryony I am currently 36, I like good food, Doctor Who and sleeping. I watch far to much Netflix and YouTube and I sometimes read.

I have no reading plans for this year, if I get to 75 that great. If I get books ticked off my list's then great. This year I am going to be chill.

I finished a book!

1. Spandex and the City by Jenny T Colgan ****

I have always found Colgan books a bit hit and miss, her romance is mostly good her sifi is meh! A mix of the two to be honest I was scared going in to this. I really did not need to be.

From the get go this was funny, well paced and knows how cheesey it is. The whole book is very tounge in cheek, mocking both romances and the superhero genre and does not apologise for it.

It was fluffy and fun and though the end made me angry, I still enjoyed it.

2. The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher ****

I listened to this Carrie Fisher has, had a very melow and carming voice and I enjoyed this very much. It is a memoir of sorts about her time, at 19 making the first Star Wars film then just known as Star Wars later A New Hope. And her time spent with a certain Mr Ford!

This was funny, erratic and loud and is everything the great Carrie Fisher was, her flaws laid bare her honestly is freeing.

A must read!

3. The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of her own Making by Catherynne M. Valente ***1/2

I went in to this expecting to love it whole heartedly, My favourite childhood book as most of you know is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland ; it was not the case for this book.

I still enjoyed it and at some point I will get to the other books in the series, it took me a very long time to get in to it and all the interesting stuff happened towards the end.

Maybe because others adored this I thought I would love it too. Still a good book overall, just took my awhile to get through it.

I finished a book! finishing books this year has been hard.

33. Heartstopper volume 1 by Alice Oseman

Boy meets Boy, Boys become friends, Boys fall in love.

This is the sort of story I would have loved to have avalible to me when I was 14 or 15. My sexuality is fluid, and a book like this would have helped me realise that much sooner rather than struggle for so many years.

This was cute, a great story of new friendship that may be more. Going to have to buy volume 2 and 3 now.
