Character description

Sarah Churchill, née Jennings (1660-1744), Duchess of Marlborough, was the long-time intimate friend and power behind the throne of Queen Anne I of England. She grew more imperious over the years and was eventually dismissed by the queen in 1710. She and her husband John Churchill built Blenheim Palace.
