Interesting, lively, read of the life of Dickens, books, friends, family, and characters. Shows how incredibly hardworking Dickens was; and the contrast to the rest of the family! How did he cram so much life into 58 years?!! Could walk 20 miles at night when struggling with a new novel. Interesting insights but one oversight- Nellie Ternan only mentioned in one sentence, and dismissed as gossip.

A short but interesting read for history buffs. A few b&w Cruickshank illustrations are included in the free e-book. About half the book is an underworld slang dictionary.
